Quick Start

Get up and running with these essential guides

Installation Steps

  1. 1

Assess your site conditions and determine fall height

  2. 2

    Install your Bunyip Pump

  3. 3

Connect the supply pipe — ideally with a shutoff valve for easy servicing

  4. 4

    Connect the delivery line

  5. 5

Slowly open the shutoff valve to start the system

Note: Always close the shutoff valve slowly when servicing the pump — closing it too fast can cause water hammer and potentially burst your pipes.

Maintenance Checklist

  • Full service every 2 years — just 4 seals and an O-ring, easy to do yourself

  • In harsher or silty water, service yearly instead

  • Occasional visual checks are a good idea, but not required between services

Quick answers to common questions

What is the minimum fall height required?

Our Bunyip Pumps can operate with fall heights as low as 0.3 meters, though greater fall heights improve efficiency and output.

How much maintenance do these pumps need?

Very little. A full service is just 4 seals and an O-ring, typically every 2 years — or yearly if your water quality is harsher. It's simple enough to do yourself, and regular checks in between are a good idea but not required.

Can I install a pump myself?

Yes — Bunyip Pumps are built to be simple, DIY-friendly installs with basic tools and no electrician needed. If you get stuck, our team is just a call or WhatsApp message away to talk you through it.

What is the lifespan of a Bunyip Pump?

With proper maintenance, Bunyip Pumps typically last 20-30 years or more, making them a sound long-term investment.
