Bringing Australian gravity-powered water transfer technology to Southern Africa
In 2017, Brett Porta and Ralph Glockemann founded Bunyip in Australia after years of research into sustainable water transfer technology, developing the first prototype of what would become the Bunyip Pump — a gravity-powered system that requires no electricity and delivers water 24/7 from supply drops as low as 300mm.
Aqua Gravity (Pty) Ltd is the licensed South African supplier of the Bunyip Pump, manufactured under licence from Bunyip Pumps, Australia. In 2022 the Bunyip Pump 13 became the first model produced locally, bringing small-scale water transfer to residential and small farm applications across Southern Africa.
We expanded the range in 2025 with the Bunyip Pump 8 for smaller operations, followed by the high-capacity Bunyip Pump 16 later that year. In 2026 we introduced Castle vertical multistage pumps, adding pressure boosting to our lineup alongside the gravity range.
Our commitment remains unchanged: bring elegant, reliable, and environmentally conscious water solutions to farms and homes that traditional pumps can't reach.

These principles guide everything we do
We believe in harnessing the power of gravity and nature to create water solutions that work with the environment, not against it.
Our pumps are engineered to last. With minimal moving parts and no electricity required, they deliver consistent performance for decades.
We make cutting-edge water transfer technology accessible to everyone, from small households to large agricultural operations.
Our dedicated team is here to help you from selection to installation and beyond. Your success is our mission.
